About
Following the success of the IREDonline Conference in 2025, the upcoming conference, currently titled Batteries in Power Systems, will focus on the evolving role of battery energy storage systems across all scales—from utility-scale installations to distributed resources such as commercial and residential systems and electric-vehicle-to-grid (V2G) applications. As battery deployment accelerates, optimizing their integration into power systems is becoming increasingly important to support reliability, flexibility, and decarbonization.
The event will explore how battery storage can deliver system-wide value, including its role in grid stability, congestion management, and flexibility services. Key topics will include coordination and control of distributed battery fleets, the interaction between battery deployment and grid reinforcement needs, and the regulatory and market frameworks required to enable value stacking and efficient use of battery capabilities.
By bringing together researchers, system operators, industry leaders, regulators, and policymakers, the conference will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and cross-sector dialogue on best practices for integrating battery storage into modern power systems.

Testimonials
Here is a preview of some of the personal statements from our Presenters and the Scientific Committee about IREDonline.
We are thrilled to launch IREDonline in response to the accelerating transition of energy systems. The need for more frequent, bi-annual gatherings has become evident. Our previous IRED conferences have been exceptionally successful in uniting experts from around the world to share insights, innovations, and solutions for integrating renewable and distributed energy resources.

Philipp Strauß
Fraunhofer IEE, Germany
I hope that IREDonline will enable us to share the latest technologies and best practices for power systems that can support the large-scale integration of renewable energies toward carbon neutrality.

Aki Hirohisa
University of Tsukuba, Japan
I have attended several IRED conferences in the US, Europe, and Japan, and each has provided unique insights and solutions to energy integration challenges. The IREDonline conference is a fantastic opportunity to continue these discussions without geographic barriers.

Nikos Hatziargyriou
National Technical University of Athens, Greece
The upcoming IREDonline conference is a must-attend online event for those seeking the latest updates on renewable energy innovations worldwide. It’s the perfect platform to explore new trends and integration strategies in the renewable energy sector. Don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity!
